First Team Report

Ashley visited Lymm on Saturday and in a low scoring match scrambled home by six runs. Lymm opened first and after being 46 for three wickets were all out for 54, C Vickers be the destructive agent with five for 24 and T Smith two fir six. AC Saville 19 and E Nadin 14 were the only Lymm men to show any confidence. Ashley in turn had to scrape for runs, E Nadin being in deadly form for the home side taking eight wickets for 28 runs. The chief scorers were KM Dunsmuir 28 RA Lambert 10. A timely stand by CH Syers and C Vickers put the issue beyond doubt when nothing was coming off for the visitors.

Second Team Report

The Lymm second team turned up with only eight men but found three efficient substitutes and succeeded after a bad start in reaching 65. Ashley having all the worst of the weather conditions. This score seemed little enough but when the home side batted a regular debacle occurred and the last wicket fell at 21, a most inexplicable result due solely to rank bad batting. For Ashley L Hall took six for 33 and for Lymm Rouse and Hodgkiss both bowled extremely well.
