Ashley were at home to Mobberley on Saturday and had the worst of the exchanges. Mobberley made good use of first knock and put together a total of 113 against some steady bowling. A Eden came out excellently well with 28 and S Duckworth with another 28 shaped well. For the home side W Watson took three wickets for one and C Vickers five for 36. Ashley’s reply was lamentably week , although they had no luck. KM Dunsmuir was unfortunately run out when well set with 11 to his credit a loss which probably had a good deal to do with the result. The only other double figure innings was FE Hill 14 including a Jessopian drive out of the ground. W Eden bowled well his six wickets costing only 20 runs. The home score was 58.
